Shop Nursery Road!

Thursday, July 26, 2018
Hey sweet friends!

So sorry about the radio silence from over here, I have been SO BUSY! Quick life update: I quit my waitressing job and am staying home full time with our son and am working part time with the company my husband works for. We are SO grateful for this change in our lives. We used to see each other for weekends and then like 15 minutes on weekdays when we traded off our son so being able to see each other every evening is an absolute treat for us!

I know my eyes are closed, but look at that grin on Luke!
On top of working remotely with my husband's company, I have been able to make some super exciting developments with making a Nursery Road SHOP for you guys! Whoop whoop! I'm so happy to announce I now have a storefront space within Every Nook and Cranny in downtown Mt. Dora AND an Etsy store that is available for you guys to shop any time. These developments have been in motion for a few months and I couldn't be more excited about it. You can find my Etsy store here at: Nursery Road.

Here are a few items I have at the storefront and on Etsy! I'm creating tons of new stuff and add to it frequently. As always, the best way to stay up to date with whats going on at Nursery Road, follow my on Instagram! My handle is @nurseryroadblog.

Cute little view of my essential oil diffusing bracelets at Every Nook and Cranny in downtown Mt. Dora, these are also available in my Etsy store.

I also make essential oil diffusing earrings using black lava stones and either 14k plated gold or sterling silver plated earring posts.

The succulents are exclusively available in the store at Every Nook and Cranny in downtown Mt. Dora

Cute little view of a hanging planter and Cafe 334 inside Every Nook and Cranny in Downtown Mt. Dora, stop in for an amazing vanilla cardamom latte!

These macrame planters are so fun to make and I LOVE how they turn out. They are only available at Every Nook and Cranny in downtown Mt. Dora

This is ELLA- she's my absolute favorite macrame I've made to date and is currently available on my Etsy store for purchase!

I am so excited to share all of the new goings-on in the little house on Nursery Road. I also have some BIG news coming that I can't wait to share with you all coming next week! Stay tuned :)

Love and hugs,
Sarah

NURSERY ROAD UPDATE

Monday, January 1, 2018

HEY THERE SWEET FRIENDS!

Just wanted to hop on here and give you all an update on what's been going on at the house on Nursery Road. So much has happened in the last six months in our lives. I completely dropped the ball on posting on here so I want to apologize. I love and value each and every one of you that reads my blog. Thanks for coming back!

HURRICANE IRMA

The little house on Nursery Road went through Hurricane Irma back in September. We're still standing, didn't even loose power! We did however, have a flooded backyard (the lake got a little excited... the water level took a full month to get back to normal), downed trees in the backyard, and a blanket of Spanish moss over our entire property. Here are some pictures of our damage:

Like I said, not too bad considering what others faced. We are so blessed and grateful The Lord kept us and our home safe and sound.

AFTER IRMA

After our home survived the hurricane so well (it was built in the early 50's!) The hubs and I decided to invest more time and love into making our house a home. After living in the house for nearly four years, the only things we have altered was painting one bedroom (only because we were converting it to a nursery) , and redoing our plumbing (not a fun thing to renovate, but a huge blessing once it was done.)

I am a total home design junkie and re watch episodes of Fixer Upper on repeat for weeks and am constantly pinning more home reno ideas on my respective Pinterest boards. Originally, Hubs and I decided to save our money because we were newly married, working semi-good paying jobs, and wanted to find another home a few towns away which is closer to church, friends, and work. While we are still keeping our eyes and ears open for an opportunity to move, we've come to terms with the fact that we need to bloom where we're planted and make the most of what we have and where we are. I am so excited to make our house more of a home with this decision. Definitely expect more posts about that in the future!

REST IN PEACE

In the midst of all of the Hurricane clean up and getting our lives back to it's normal rhythm, one of my dear friends from childhood passed away in a sudden and extremely tragic car accident far away from home and her family. I was fortunate enough to be able to take time off from work and go to her celebration of life ceremony. That was truly what it was for Michelle- the woman who loved anything fuschia and sparkly, marathon runner, yogi, vegan recipe explorer, and full adventurer of life. She recently climbed Macchu Picchu with her sister and didn't waste a single moment. The way she lived her life is such an inspiration to get my butt in gear and get stuff done! I'm tired of feeling eternally sleepy, not healthy, not getting anything done... I'm tired of the excuse of "I don't have the time" running my life. I want to make a conscious effort every day to do everything I need to do and then do a few things I actually want to!

HAPPY PLANNER

Going along with this mindset, I recently bought myself a Happy Planner (basically a blank slate that you decorate and organize to fit your life and goals). I'm going to post my pages every week on Instagram (@nurseryroadblog)  to not only keep myself accountable to keep up with it, but to also share my attempts at organization to help create a better sense of self and help my over-all well being.

SOCIAL MEDIA CATCH-UP

If you don't already, please take a minute to follow Nursery Road on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest! I post updates and what I'm up to on social media more frequently than sitting down and writing out a whole blog post. If you want to stay updated on the day-to-day of what we have going on, those are the best platforms to do so. (You can follow each of those really easily by clicking the icons in the top left corner of my blog page, the links will take you to each website or app, respectively.)

Biggest news on social media since we last chatted was the fact that we reached over 100 followers on Nursery Road's Instagram page! WOOOO! Thank you all so much for your continued support! To celebrate, I hosted a giveaway on Instagram where I gave away a Harvest banner I handmade to the winner.

KITCHEN RENOVATION

If you do follow my Instagram, you will have also seen that in the spirit of customizing our home, we renovated the kitchen! It’s truly amazing what a coat of fresh paint, some contact paper, and a bit of reorganizing can do to a space! If you haven’t checked it out yet, go! I’m so in love with the way it turned out. I will also be posting an entire blog post on what we exactly did, what products I used, and other details of the project at a later time.

2018

Sorry about the extra long post, you guys. There sure was a lot to talk about. To wrap things up, I’m so excited for the new adventures and opportunities that 2018 will bring for our family and this blog. Thank you as always for following and walking alongside me. I’m so ready to show you guys everything I have going on right now! Make sure you stay tuned!
